Work With Drumforge - E-Kit Consultant Job Opportunity
E-Kit Consultant (Contract) — Drumforge
Drumforge is looking for a drummer and e-kit enthusiast or professional to help us make our drum sampler plugins work better for the electronic drumming community.
This is a short-term paid contract opportunity — fully remote, open to applicants worldwide.
What This Is
We want someone who lives at the intersection of real drumming and electronic kit setups. You'll spend a few weeks digging into our full product lineup using your own e-kit rig, then work directly with our development team to help us understand where we're falling short and what we should build or fix next.
This isn't a permanent position. It's a focused, paid engagement for someone who is passionate about e-kits, has hands-on experience with the hardware and software side of electronic drumming, and can translate that experience into clear, actionable feedback.
What You'll Do
- Use all current Drumforge drum sampler plugins with your e-kit setup across various configurations and brands (Roland, Yamaha, Alesis, and others)
- Identify friction points, missing features, and compatibility gaps in how our products interact with e-kit hardware and MIDI routing
- Deliver a written report of findings, prioritized improvements, and recommendations
- Communicate directly with our dev team — answering questions, clarifying edge cases, and helping us understand the e-kit workflow from a player's perspective
- Report bugs and unexpected behavior with enough detail to be actionable
Who We're Looking For
- An active drummer who regularly plays or performs on an electronic kit
- Comfortable with the technical side of e-kit setups — MIDI configuration, module settings, DAW routing, trigger sensitivity, and how all of it connects to drum plugins
- Familiar with multiple e-kit brands and ecosystems, not just one
- Can write clearly and communicate findings in a way that's useful to a software development team
- Self-directed — you'll be given access and a goal, and we trust you to run with it
Compensation & Terms
- $1,000 USD, one-time payment
- Independent contractor only — this is not an employee position and does not include benefits
- Fully remote — work from anywhere
- Drumforge is a US-based company; contractors outside the US are welcome to apply
- Compensation is fixed and non-negotiable
Start Date
We're looking to get started immediately. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
How to Apply
Click here and tell us about your e-kit setup, your experience with drum software and plugins, and why you're the right person for this. Include any relevant background — gigging experience, home studio work, MIDI nerd credentials, whatever makes you a good fit. We don't need a formal resume, just enough to understand who you are and what you work with.
