TRX CYMBALS PARTNERSHIP

TRX Cymbals have always impressed us with how well they record and translate across mixes, so we believed they are the perfect compliment for our Savior Custom Drums sampler. We formed a partnership with TRX cymbals and handpicked a collection of their cymbals that was extremely versatile and could cover any mix situation. Now you can experience the stunning audio quality of TRX Cymbals in your mixes, recorded in a versatile format which allows you to bend genres at will.

EXCITING ENGINEERING SETUPS

Drumforge Savior Custom Drums takes our sampler concept to an entirely new level, offering more engineering setups than ever before. These setups allow you to take any drum or cymbal and create many different sounds quickly. Switch between different overhead mics on your cymbals and blend in Mid-Side ambience to control their width so they fit perfectly in your mix. Combine different inside and outside kick mics while switching between felt and wood beaters to find the best attack for your mix. Mix several different direct snare mics and versatile ambience combinations to take your snare from natural and tight to big stadium rock in seconds. Create earth shaking low end in your toms with a bottom mic or augment the direct mic with a condenser a few feet up in the air to add new levels of depth. Whatever sound your mix needs is now available to you at the click of a mouse.

EXTREMELY DETAILED

Drumforge has given a lot of thought to recreating human-like drum performances and has come up with a few exciting ways to achieve that. Left and right hand sampling allows you to create incredible realism in your fills. Easily, switch between hand performances via programming or by using the Drumforge auto switching detection algorithm. If you want additional control over the velocity and gain of samples, there is a velocity interpretation curve so you can achieve your desired volume difference between the loudest and softest hits. The sampler also features an excellent and time-tested smoothing algorithm in between successive hits to make drum programming sound more like real drum performances.

MIX IN THE BOX SAMPLER

Mix faster with a powerful, premium mixing engine with built in DSP modules designed specifically for mixing your best drum sounds. In fact, the mixing environment allows you to make near exact recreations of your favorite drum mixes. Insert your favorite Drumshotz or one-shot wav files into your mix for layering and stacking intense drum tones. Whether you are trying to capture the sound of your favorite drum mix or forging your own drum sound, Drumforge Savior gives you the power to get amazing mixes without leaving the plugin.

SUPERCHARGE YOUR SONGWRITING

Suffering from writer’s block? The Drumforge Savior plugin features a simple to use Song Builder designed to make songwriting effortless. Use the Groove & Fill Playlist to quickly find drum grooves and fills. Drag your favorites into the song builder queue to build your song and the intelligent fill logic will automatically insert your selected drum fills at the end of the bars. You’ll spend less time clicking and more time making music, and that’s what matters most.

Savior is a go-to for me. I'm planning on getting some of the other libraries/software from Drumforge as well actually. I love that it has mixing tools on each channel and that I can process the different mics of each kit piece independently or together, so there's a lot of control there. Also that I can add other samples to the kit while still in one iteration of the Savior plugin. I've had some occasional crashes when changing kits, but not enough to ruin it for me. It's the main virtual drum plugin I've been using for some time now!

I got it when it was on sales and it's VERY good!
There are a few things i wish to see in this software.

1: More Outputs routing.
It's a lil limited for having THIS much of mixing possibilities.

2: Crash fixes.
The software sometimes will crash when i either close it, change the mapping, or kick a one shot sample.

3: Multisample choice.
In case you have a snare sample with different hits, it would be very nice to add a feature that lets you import multiple sample hits for one drum piece.

Overall, this drum vst it's very good, i love it and i wish for at least more crash fixes.

This is my most used sampler ever! I would only love to have a completely raw setting or at least something without the hype of clipping and eq, everything sounds already processed even playing with velocity layers, the fact that i have left and right arms to play the snare is amazing, the kick´s beater texture switch is something not all of the drum libraries out there have. If this sampler had a "mixed and unmixed" kinda knob or switch, this would be my number one choice when i have to decide for a drum library. Also the cymbals variety is so good! I would only love to have an extra bell. When doing metal i love having something like a Zyl Bell or a Zildjian Megabell to cut though on dense rythm sections. The ride here is nice for this task, but i´d say it does the job with a score of 7 out of 10. My veredict is: Drumforge Savior i love you!

Great plugin with major issue

I was using this plugin a lot in the past, but while all other plugin developers made their products compatibile with M processor Macs, this product still does not suppot native M processors -- since 2020. I would recommend parking your money elsewhere for now.

DF Savior is good to have

Sound-wise the Savior library is indeed something very unique! Snares and toms are a kind of rock-metal default sounds. However, some of the kick drums are very unique - you never hear such kick tones in other libraries - and they fit very well to any mix. All cymbals sound great (perfect attack and decay). I have other DF libraries, but now I mostly use this Savior library. Changing the microphones and beaters also extend the scale of mixing possibilities significantly. The plugin still has some issues, sometimes the DAW is forced to crash or just my DAW quits. The stability of the plugin will probably be improved - I experience less quits with the Savior compared to Classic and Bergstrand, they probably worked on and improved already. To conclude, the Savior library really worth the price.

My new favorite drum sampler

So far I’m in love with this sampler. Before, I was mixing and matching different samples from different packs and plugins to get the sound I wanted. So far, Drumforge Savior has been a good one stop drum shop for me.

Great sounds, awful vst

The plugin has lots of potential but it has so many unresolved bugs I don't think it's even worth it. I wish Drumforge would care to update this.

Sounds great but…

It sounds really great but when I change the presets, it causes a error and daw is forced to shutdown. and every time I restart daw, my settings always returns to default. I want you to fix these problems next update

Nice to have

Really pro drums but in my oppinion for the price we pay we could get more Midi Grooves like other competition. Having to buy the Midi Grooves to me is a non point. But thanks .

Great sounding Kit an nice expansion of bergstrand platform!however..Errors and bugs that were reported in previous bergstrand version are not been addressed and fixed nor in bergstrand and worse they are also in new Supposed to be a saviour?hah being sarcastic.PLugin performs awful on higher rates like 96Khz and its terribly Pc heavy.Even in 48khz can hickup with 4096 Rme Hdsp Aio buffer size.same with berg. One of most PC hungry drum vst i saw and i have them all from day one they came out (ezdrummer I etc) when using external non shotz samples plugin to crashes and ususal reset or daw reset is not sufficient to bring it back.Plugin bergstrand and Saviour while crashing saves error written it its own config file that only when found and physically deleted from folder restores the plugin for use.possible mish mash with cyrylic and any language that doesnt use our english alphabet .and finally since im here ..why theres not one kit with two toms and floor?three toms?none in saviour .>?

DF Savior - New Era in Raw Drums

The new sampler is great! Very natural and RAW (separate samples for different hands - blow my mind!). Not only are there just brilliant cymbals, but this is a godsend and a new step in drum sampling. In my current project I'm mixing I choose DF Savior cymbals! I also use a snare drum! I especially like that I can quickly mix everything in context, in the sampler itself!

Finally, I found the drum sound I had been looking for

After trying different drum libraries and drum plugins, the Drumforge Savior was the one that finally gave me the sound I had been searching for.

I mainly produce modern and heavy music, especially metalcore and post-hardcore, and the character of the drums in the Savior is simply perfect for the kind of music I listen to and produce. The kicks, snares, toms and cymbals have exactly the weight, punch, aggression and character I was looking for. They sound modern and powerful without feeling artificial or overly processed.

But what surprised me just as much as the quality of the samples is how flexible the Savior is. Even though it absolutely shines in modern heavy music, it can be shaped for many different styles and productions. You’re not locked into one specific sound.

The internal mixing tools are also fantastic. This is one of my favorite things about the plugin: you can actually get your drums sounding finished inside the Savior itself. The built-in processing gives you so much control over the character, dynamics, punch and overall balance that you don’t necessarily need a bunch of external plugins afterward.

That makes the workflow incredibly fast. Instead of spending hours trying to force a drum library into the sound I want, I can build the kit, mix it inside the Savior, make a few final adjustments in my DAW, and have drums that are already sitting very close to the finished production.

For me, this was more than just buying another drum plugin. It was finally finding the drum sound I had been looking for.

I’m from Brazil, and I also want to thank Drumforge for making products of this quality available at accessible prices. Buying plugins in US dollars can be very expensive for Brazilian producers because of the exchange rate, so when a product delivers this much quality, flexibility and functionality for its price, it makes a huge difference.

The Savior has become an essential part of my setup, and I’m genuinely grateful I found it. If you produce modern heavy music, this is an incredible instrument — but its flexibility makes it much more than just a “metal” drum plugin.
